Vision and Values

We have a deep conviction that within our community, we want everyone to be happy, grow and flourish as successful individuals, where we celebrate difference and nurture our talents.

Within the school we have 6 core Christian values:

These values underpin our commitment to upholding the British Values:

As a Church of England school, our vision, ethos and values are based on our distinct Christian Values.

We believe that each and every person is a unique child of God who is ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’, (Psalm 139 v14). Our vision is underpinned by texts from the Book of Jeremiah.

The central belief of the Christian faith is, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life”. (John 3 v16)

Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose to new life and opened the door of salvation to all.

Every day marks a new beginning, and this is reflected in our Behaviour and Relationships Policy which aims, where possible, to seek resolution and bring peace, in an act of forgiveness. Jeremiah often bemoaned the prevalence of the flourishing of sin, but Christ preached a gospel of forgiveness. The parables of the Lost Sheep and of the Prodigal Son demonstrate that when we have lost our way, we will always be welcomed back with warmth.

Jeremiah later states: “I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” This offers us a sense of the love of God and a security in the future. It gives us a sense that there is something beyond the present; that endings are not to be feared or difficulties avoided. It gives us a sense of the transforming nature of God.

“As children of God, we are working together with warmth and the belief that everyone can be happy, grow and flourish.”

A school community is a dynamic entity and the conditions for growth need to be right if we are to flourish and bear fruit.

Our core values are: Community, Respect, Wisdom, Joy, Hope, and Peace.

Through a focus on these values we aim to reflect the nature of God and his Son, so that we can all grow and flourish.
